It all depends on the cost of the parts (and quality) and the shop labor. Could be anywhere from $500-$1500. My Pro-Built cost about $1400 but it's the best you can get.

Moving it an eighth inch or so shouldn't hurt it. There's some play in the motor mounts and there should be room all around everything else.

It should be fine, anybody can build a TH350. Why not a 700R4? Pro-Built 700's hold over 500hp plus you'd have overdrive and TCC for gas mileage.
