Re: Holley Street Avenger Help

I'd definitely double check your adjustments. The carb may be a LITTLE small but not so much that it should cause anything like this. When you adjust the floats do you do it with the engine running...

Re: What carb should i get?

I agree with that when using a dual plane intake manifold, but I've found with a single plane manifold going "under-carb'd" definitely produces positive results. :2cents:

To the original poster:...

Re: Does seafoam really make a difference?

I've been working at an auto parts store for about 2 1/2 years now. I sell Seafoam to just about anybody who will buy it. I have never had anybody ever come back upset about anything related to using...

Re: Loads of 2.8 issues

I should have mentioned that the timing gears have not been touched since before the last time it ran normally. So all the timing is at the distributor right now. Fully retarded and fully advanced...

Re: Are people siphoning my gas when im not lookin??

+1 on the locking gas cap idea. $10-$15 is nothing compared to losing half a tank in two days.

Loads of 2.8 issues

This may be a bit of a long read. Please be patient as any advice is helpful to me and very appreciated.

I traded a junker for this Camaro, and it actually has less problems than what I got rid...

Re: all sorts of goodies for v6's, can it be true?

A good number of parts from FWD 60° V6 engines change over. Heads and intake flow better.

Edit: Ah, taking a closer look at that website shows none of that stuff. Exhaust and header parts, mostly....

Re: Does seafoam really make a difference?

Don't get me wrong, doesn't hurt to put it in the crankcase before an oil change. Nothing wrong with that. In fact, now that I think about it, it really isn't unnecessary as I previously mentioned...

Re: Does seafoam really make a difference?

It does no harm to the catalytic converter or oxygen sensor(s). The carbon is burnt before it reaches the exhaust components.

It can, however, leave the spark plugs looking white when used through...

Re: Yellow and Amber Antifreeze

I use a 50/50 mix of yellow Prestone antifreeze with distilled water and a bottle of Red Line Water Wetter. Have been for some time now.

It works just fine for me. Then again, I don't neglect the...

WTB: Berlinetta center hub caps

I've got an '82 Berlinetta with the stock wheels (see signature pic) that need the original center caps. I've got two Z28 caps on the rear wheels, trying to go back to original.

Send me a PM with...

Re: Grant steering wheels

I like the Challenger series. They are inexpensive compared to some of the other ones and I think they look good.

Converting a KPH speedo to show MPH

I saw a guy on another forum use a KPH speedometer and wired it up to read in MPH. I PM'd him asking him how he did it and never got a reply after almost a week.

I imagine it couldn't be that...

Re: Kill: EG6

More accurately, an EG chassis code on a Civic specifies model years from 1992-1995. The EG6 is a '92-'95 Civic hatchback. EK or EJ is from '96-'00.

I had an EG8 (sedan). It was only 16 seconds or...

Re: LS1/T56 in the garage

Congrats on the new toy arriving!

I hope to do exactly what you are about to do to my '82 Berlinetta. I have a lot of learning to do on the swap, though.

Re: pics of my body work on the 84 bird:)

I think he's on the right track. Putting it out of it's misery at this stage is a waste of a good project car. Besides, whether or not it looks good doesn't mean that it will never roast the tires....

Re: Ok I got it, 1991 Formula L98

I MUST know the paint code. Dark green is my favorite color and that is just beautiful. I could stare at it for hours.

Also, are those the plates that came with the car when you bought it or are...

Re: 88 iroc vs 05 rx-8

Curb weight on an '05 RX-8 is about 2900 lbs. according to my searches.

Curb weight on an '88 IROC is somewhere near 3500 lbs. isn't it?

If I'm right, that is a 600 lb. difference. Driving...

Re: Horn prank need help.

A lot of the pranks on this page seem harmless. But the horn to the brake pedal idea is a good way to distract somebody when they are trying to negotiate a stop. Accidents could arise out of that.

Re: how do you like my spoiler? kinda custom kinda not

Wasn't the 91-92 Z spoiler designed loosely on a Ferrari spoiler design? I think I read that somewhere in the main section of TGO.

Re: shaved antenna yay or nay

I think if you don't listen to AM/FM radio in your car, that it can enhance the look of the car. Might be annoying to the next owner of the car, though.
