Your timing is def crucial to the performance of the Car...your gonna have to find a way to get that notch visible to a timing light (maybe draw a line across it as best you can with a straight edge...

I own an 87 GTA and when everything iss set up right on these cars they're plenty reliable...and as you know the car is only as good as the maintenance provided by its owner...Youd have a ton of fun...

check your fan switch (passenger side on lower side of motor), CTS sensor (front of manifold below throttle body...theres two sensors there, its the one on the left)...Fan relay (driver side firewall)

This code usually indicates burnoff relay failure...if the relay checks out then check for openings in the black ground wire or orange power wire between the ecm , fusable links, and or battery

could be your Ignition control module....these are known to go at times and would produce no activity from the starter but alowing all other electronics in the car to operate fine

start with simple...dist cap, wires, plugs, & rotor...also air filter....if the engine seems and sounds like its rippin then you may have tranny or differential problems with slipping....respectively...

Check to make sure your TPS is giving correct voltage at WOT, also if it absolutely makes no change whatsoever from idle for that amount of time you may want to check fuel pressure, throttle cable...

Sounds like the timing is off...do some more research as to finding the base timing for that particular year/setup...I know on mine I had to disconnect the brown wire above the heater blower motor on...
