Re: code 34 to code 33

wat are the codes again? i think i threw a 34 code once. it was the maf burnoff fault. i replaced the MAF with an extra i had and replaced the MAF burnoff relay and if took the check engine light off. my car wasnt running rough tho. the relay is cheap and is in the cluster of replays where the fuel pump relay etc is on the driver side firewall.... well on my firebird it is. could be that relay

The maf burnoff and power relay or the 2 relays to the far right of the brake booster correct. i will pick those up today, they should be the same relay correct

Re: code 34 to code 33

33-MAF sensor indicated an air flow of 45 gm/sec or more for 0.600 second when TPS was less than 1/4 throttle and engine speed was under 2000 RPM.

34-MAF sensor indicated an air flow of 25 gm/sec or less for 0.600 second when TPS was above 6% and engine speed was above 2300 RPM.

I'd say it's time to check the MAF connectors, MAF relay connectors, and TPS voltage.

You might also want to check the throttle body for leakage and the PCV system, especially verifying the valve is correct.

Re: code 34 to code 33

not starting without giving it gas?... hmmm... the code is something withe the maf or tps as Vader stated. do what he said, but the giving it gas... maybe u should also check fuel pressure. its an 87 so u have a cold start injector, that would give u hard starts. i would check your IAC as well as TPS. just go through everything

Re: code 34 to code 33

First things first....code 33 and 34 can be a tricky without proper diagnoses...Find the chart that guides you in probing the MAF harness to ensure proper function of the system in general...this will allow you to find out if it is in fact the MAF sensor, MAF burnoff relay, or a problem with the circuitry....once this problem is elminated move on to adjust minimum air adjustment, once this is properly set you will then need to correctly adjust your TPS sensor to obtain proper volatage....once all these have been done in order you should be in the right boat hopefully spending the least amount of money needed to get yah up and runnin....it sounds like alot but its really not
