Re: G8 wheels?

I'm bringing this back up, guys. Has anyone ever put a set of alloy G8 rims on an F-Body? I can get a set very cheap but I'm not sure how they will look and fit.

Re: Skip White Aluminum Throttle Bracket

Yep, I'm not a fan of the blue, either. The polished version is a good alternative, I kinda wish I went that route.

Skip White Aluminum Throttle Bracket

Here's another thread on one of Skip White's products. This one is for his aluminum throttle cable bracket and stainless throttle cable.

Re: Hot pink thirdgen, For the girls!

I have to say, I'm not a fan of the shaved door handles. It was well executed, but it just throws off the look of the car IMO.

The color combo looks amazing though. Time for some rims and a V8. ...

Re: CANNOT get front coil springs back in!

Hands down, the easiest way was using the 4 jaw puller and installing the springs with the spindle disconnected.

Re: Cruiser cam catches 100 mph crash (1985 Pontiac Firebird)

Oh yeah, they are relatively tough, but they are still a flimsy unibody sports car. I've seen plenty of them wrecked and feel safe in mine, no question about that. But no vehicle is designed to...

Re: Cruiser cam catches 100 mph crash (1985 Pontiac Firebird)

That is ridiculous. Very few cars would give you the opportunity to fight for your life after an accident like this. I NEVER would have thought a 3rd gen was one of them.

Re: why are 3rd gens the "ugliest" f-body?

They were only meant to last so long, but the difference is you could lift the body off of a 1st gen and easily replace every single part on the car. 3rd gens are a lot more intricate.

Re: why are 3rd gens the "ugliest" f-body?

I didn't read the whole thread, but here's my take:

3rd gens were introduced during a bad time for sports cars. They weren't the slowest F bodies (most of the second gens were horribly...

There is no Y pipe for the Jegs headers, you have to fab it. Don't waste your time though, they're the worst headers money can buy.

Re: Spohn Bolt Kits. Disappointed...

Something like rod bolts or intake bolts are one thing, but pinch bolts are totally different. Besides, almost all ARP bolts call for HIGHER torque specs than the factory rating, not lower.

There is more to torque specs than the bolts. Different components require different torque specs. These are pinch bolts that secure the strut to the knuckle, and if GM engineers decided...
