Will this fit the 148 tooth 2.8 flywheel? That is neither 168 nor 153.... Do you have a 2.8/3.1/3.4 with one of these starters on it to make sure it works? I want facts here.

350's bolt holes are directly across from one another IIRC, the 2.8/3.1/3.4 have staggered bolt holes so no.

So finally got ahold of a reputable diesel shop that has all Garrett stuff in stock, and custom builds their rebuild kits to order.

Being I just discovered that the turbine was rubbing the exhaust...

I think the backing plate and such might bolt up, Just hope its the dynamic seal backing plate. That would be perfect if it did. Then I wouldn't have to do an assload of modifications again...

I think what I am going to do, is make a flange that'll taper the exhaust into only one side of the turbo, effectively making it a .58AR housing. If it is truly a twin scroll, I will block the side...

Well thanks to D-bag, I can't rebuild this turbo. He rounded off 2 of the bolts holding the exhaust housing on, and they are both in spots where I can't cut or drill them out. No room to get the 12pt...

And thats what an ebay rebuild would do. When I installed the turbo it had no shaft play. Within 1000 miles it had the death whine.

Last time I buy anything off these forums. No offense....

Hehe, If I blow compressed air through the oil feed on the turbo, you can hear it coming out of the breather in the valve cover, LOL.

Looks like that needs a rebuild too. Bet it had an ebay...

Trust me, It's very easy to learn, and once you do, you don't have to wait for someone else to do it. You can just do it yourself.

If I put 10-20 psi from the air compressor, through the oil feed on the turbo, guess what happens?

Air comes out of the valve cover...

Looks like it needs a rebuild, or its shot....

Yes you can use a flux core welder, but if you want a welder, and want to weld whenever you want/need, its MIG and gas all the way. I won't touch flux core, gas is 1000000x better. We got a cheap...

Yea but the oil return bung is in my 2.8 pan, so I gotta swap it over. I have a new oil pan gasket on mine too. Yours was ****ed, lol.
