well judging from the photos, and knowing it has a other than stock motor in it, I think you got a pretty fair deal. Has it ever been wrecked? Are you happy with the purchase? it's hard to say if you spent too much, but thats about what those cars are going for stock, and with the vortech motor, you should have a bit more power than stock i'd think.. so yea, i think you did ok.

not a stellar price, but not a bad one.

If you're happy with it, that is the most important thing. The '87 IROC-Z I just bought for $4250 for example. Some people say I over paid, some think I got a great deal. All agree though, if I'm happy with it, then the price was right.

yes, and the reasons i think so are as follows. KBB value, although some may dispute its accuracy, is 3790, for your car STOCK in good condition. it is a fairly low mile car w/ 100k but it has a non stock motor, which makes me leary towards the car. this makes me leary b/c of my experiences with non stock motors and my realization that no matter how many or how few miles are on the motor, something usually needs work. **just a side note, my 86 had 17k on a rebuilt motor done at a proffesional garage when i got it and had problems with the cam and lifters being completely worn, not to mention that the heads were not flat.** Also, the fact that the motor was replaced at 50k roughly, makes me wonder to the condition of the car previously.

As pointed out in the previous posts, it doesnt really matter how much you pay for a car, as long as YOU think it was a reasonable price, and YOU are happy with your decision.

just a thought.

If you are happy with it it is a good deal as far as the knock it sounds like a tranny mount....it could be a few other things, but that is the first place I'd look.

No doubt! On the way home I passed some dude in a gray 91-92 RS, towing a boat. Hood and hatch were being held in place by bunge cords. made me want to scream and cry at the same time.
