Hey this is my first time on here. I live in North Port FL. Wondering if there is anyone else around here?? Just picked up a 89 Firebird. Not a big wrench turner and had some questions about my tranny. Its a automatic it has a B&M shifter but only has P/R/N/D no 1 or 2 like others ive seen. It dosnt have posi (i want posi) and shifts really quick from first to second. Any one have an idea on the setup it might have?

As far as your trans, I wouldn't worry so much about the shifter. Drive it and see how often it physically shifts. You could have a 3 or 4 spd auto. Just depends what the previous owner did to it.
