Re: Any Members in Georgia
Yeah Norcross is definitely closer.
1. 91 Camaro RS 5.0 TBI/Auto, Bright Red/Red cloth/t-tops. Every option except custom seats, power driver's seat, Bose, and posi. Current project, bought it February 2017 and been daily driven since then. Needs paint/wheels/carpet/cam and lifters. Looks great from 20 ft away! Odometer works about 10% of the time, currently reads 87K.
2. 91 Trans Am 5.0 TPI/Auto, White/Gray cloth/t-tops. Every option except WS6, power antenna, rear defrost. Bought non-running (blown motor) in 2005. Done plenty of work to it since then, but hasn't ran while I've owned it. Needs all weatherstripping, paint, carpet, engine. Current plan is to swap an L98 from a '91 Corvette parts car at work into it. 168K.
3. 02 Trans Am WS6 6 spd Navy Blue/Ebony lthr/t-tops. Every option except CD changer. Bought new in May 2002, daily drove it until I bought the RS. Needs power antenna motor (again), clutch (again), and trans rebuild. Currently has 110K.

4 speed or 5 speed? If it's the 5 speed, you might be able to find someone local who can work on it, or just find another one cheap and swap it. IIRC, the 83s used a rare and pos Saginaw 4 speed if the buyer didn't opt for the more expensive 5 speed. Might be cheaper and easier to just swap a T5 in if you've got the 4 speed.

If you're going to go to the trouble to pull the transmission and take it apart, it would make sense to just go ahead and rebuild all the gears. But being a T5, I'd look for a good used one if you're on a tight budget, would be cheaper than rebuilding what you have.
