Bear Brake questions

OK, Ive read through a bunch of posts here on baer brakes, some people say that the 13" rotors will fit under stock iroc wheels and some say they won't...

I need to know if they will fit, before i place my order on monday.

Where can i find the best deal? (so far thunder racing is my choice)

thanks for any help

Definitely try the template out. You can download it, print it, glue it to stiff cardbaord, cut it to the correct size, and then check the fit of your wheel. I think Baer says it may work with some Camaro rims, it won't work with Pontiac rims. Here is a pic of the 13" Track system inside my 17" wheel. Notice the caliper, it gets even closer to the inside of the wheel as it goes in deeper. The stick-on wheel weights just barely clear the caliper on these 17" wheels. On a 16" wheel they would get knocked off.

Have you installed the kit yet Tom? I have a set of loose 16" IROC wheels I could try out the 13" kit with if you don't mind.

Thanks guys, i already tried the templates and thier are really close. They seem to fit, but i think it's alittle too close for my liking.

I need to know if the 13" track kit will fit with no modifications behind '88 Irocz 16" wheels. some here has had to attempt this.

thanks again

Do you live close to Tom? If you guys could set it up to try a stock 16" iroc wheel on his car that would be cool!!!

The templates that i tried looked to close to call, i think i'll just get the sport set.

I test fit one of my old 89 IROC 16x8 front wheels today and it contacts the caliper on my 13 inch Baer Track kit. I can slip the wheel over the studs, but when I tighten up the lug nuts I can't rotate the wheel at all.

I got mine from Paul at Thunder Racing. If Baer doesn't have a kit sitting on the self, it might take two to three weeks before you get them. Their is a $150 core charge for the spindles, but Baer sends you an UPS sticker, so you just put your old spindles in the box and put on the sticker and Baer picks up the shipping charge on sending your old spindles back to them.
