Jegster roll bar

I just purchased a jegster 4 pt. roll bar and the directions are not very informative. Where exactly are you to place the legs of the bars? You are supposted to weld the bottom of the bars to the supplied plates but the way the floor plan sits the plates don't sit flat. Do you have to put a solid piece of steel under the unsupported part?

you should check the rules where ever you intend to compete. nhra reqires 11gax6x6 plate with the tube welded to it and the plate welded to the floor. i'd cut the plate larger and mitter the tube to fit the plate at whatever angle it needed it be at.

I put mine on the junction just behind where the door opening is. It was a major pain in the a$$, Had to bend the plates to form to the area. I wish I had pics. The interior is back in(carpet). It did work. Three days of work. Oh mine was the 8 Point. I forgot, I had to bend the upright bars a little to make it work. Good Luck

Thanks for the info guys. At least I am making it a 2 seater. I also am not competing in it so the cage is mostly for my personal protection and chasis stiffness. I also love the look.

Subsonic....did you just head weld the plate to the floor panel? Don't you have to weld it to the frame?

weld the plate to the floor pan, there is no frame. could be welded to SFCs but it's take a bit of work since the two parts aren't in the same place, and sort of pointless.

all nhra requires is a 6x6xc.125 plate at the end of the tube welded to the floor pan. i'd think they've put some time and thought into it and the safety aspects of the installation.
