I have 245/50/16 tires and a completely rebuilt front end. Only thing not new is the rag joint and steering box. The car tracks pretty straight on the highway, but the moment the road gets the SLIGHTEST bit uneven its like a ghost is just jerking the wheel right out of my hand. Ruts...for example, it wants to go this way...it wants to go that way. I've never driven a car thats like this. I have to be careful because it will really jerk around at times, certainly enough to send me right off the road if I don't have a firm grip.

Any way to fix this? Anybody else's car like this?

I have the same problem.
It's the wide tires.

Drive a vehicle with narrow tire and you'll see the difference.

did u get the car aligned, its sounds like the caster my be off.

had the same probelm on a few camaros. one was ball joints and needed a alignment. one just needed a alignment. i wouldnt blame it on wide tires i have 9.5s on all 4 corners on my z28 and it handles just fine nice and tight

look someone else agrees with meexcept u prolly had a camber problem

Shot ball joints can make this much worse, same with strut mounts that are pretty much on their way out. I thought I did a lot but it wasn't until I replace EVERY single little piece like the ball joints, control arm bushings, ragjoint, strut mounts, etc that you appreciate how well these old things can drive.

If the car is lowered and you are running high caster you are encontering bumpsteer. you will need to drop the tierods about 1" to correct the geometry and then get it realigned so they do not toe in on bumps.

Ya if your car is lowered your probably having bumpsteer problems. Baer sells a bumpsteer kit for our cars wich ill be picking up before my RS goes down. I would also make sure nothing damaged in your steering wheel. ive seen some ppl fully rebuild there front end and still have horrible handling issues and it ended up bieng in there steering wheel.

You mean steering column, right? I'm having an issue there right now, I think it's causing binding, and it's driving me nuts.

Scary, when you get time, pull the top intermediate shaft bolt and separate the DD fitting so thesteering wheel can spin freely. You can inspect any bind in the column that way. I find it hard to believe the column is binding though. THe bearings would really have to be shot and I would think you would feel them grinding and wobbling.
