Lets solve the pre-89 4-wheel disc problem
After doing the 4-wheel disc swap I have become quite frustrated working with this setup. It seems as though many others are in the same position as me, whether it be with factory or converting to 4-wheel disc.
I have been over everything i feel could be a possible problem and still have a very soft pedal and useless brakes.
Here is what has been done.
1987 9bolt rear, rebuilt calipers purchased for both sides as well as new pads.
front brakes were fully re-done 1 year ago.
ALL rubber hoses replaced.
Correct MC for 87 trans am with 4-wheel disc.
Proportioning valve from 87 4-wheel disc car.
I have done everything I can think of after reading numerous posts in the archives and still none of the suggestions help me out.
The system was fully pressure bled by a brake shop so i dont think this is my problem although not ruled out.
One suggestion made by someone was to suck brake fluids through the lines to ensure air was not caught in and high spots in the lines. Havent tried this yet.
This problem is really getting to me and has made me hate working on brakes.
It seems also that many others with a similar set-up experience the same problem.
Does anyone know where im going wrong?
Im ready to take this thing to a GM dealer and tell them to make their equipment work.
Hopefully I have over-looked something and can get these things going.
Thanks for reading and look forward to your input.

Ya, I did that. All the air seemeed to be out of it.
I figured by pressure bleeding if i screwed that up, it would get the air out.
Could the MC be the problem? It was a newl rebuilt. If it could be a problem what should i ask for at the parts store? What car came with a good one?
I also forgot to mention the proportioning valve has been gutted in attempt to get pressure to the rear brakes, however this did not help.
