Which is "better"; monkey poo, or elepahnt poo?

They're all garbage. Just some old wore-out stock springs that weren't much good in the first place.

Sounds like the IROC ones have more miles on em, maybe with worse shocks so they got continuously bent back and forth more, and are therefore the more wore out of the 2. Doesn't matter; throw em all in the trash.

Go to the store and get a pair of Moog/TRW CC635.

Re: which rear springs iroc or rs

New springs are about $60 for a set. Not much point in putting old ones back in.

Why are you putting a 9 bolt instead of leaving the 10 bolt? Aren't the 10 bolt rear ends stronger?

No, they are the same unless one has 28 spline axles.

Re: which rear springs iroc or rs

9 bolt rear ends are actually stronger though not by much and parts are extremely hard to find to the 9 bolts (and much pricier). my choice would be a 10 bolt of course.

All 9-bolts have 28 splines regardless of year. The 10-bolt wasn't equipped with 28-spline axles until 90 (though some may have crept in in late 89). Most would agree that the 9-bolt is somewhat stronger. Here are a couple of informative links that may shed more light:
