looked at em today after months of a "death wobble" and it didn't look good



so i got these at napa



then i had to swap them, only got one side done because of the RAIN (which i hate) and the fact that i broke the spare tire jack and had to go buy a jack



after 25 mins i had the old one out, as you can see any and all bushings were GONE, heres the empty space where it should have been



and the finished product, love the fact i have poly bushings now, hopefully they'll last awhile, also the new links are stainless so they wont rust like the old ones did they were $18.


still gotta do the other side tomorrow and then

wasn't really a death wobble, but a noticeable one when driving on the brick streets around town, and over speed bumps, and a strong pull to the right on the interstate

that still wont cause any of that, all it will do is make a little noise perhaps.

well when i replaced the bad side, didn't have any of that anymore

I've done it to several of my cars really badly over the years

its not bad with a jack and some blocks, the way mine were and idk if its right or not because its backwards of the insturctions (the nut on top, and the bolt put up through the bottom) was fairly easy a 13mm wrench on the top placed between the strut and the inner fender will all but hold itself while you use a socket on the bottom part, then take a small mallet and tap it out, the hard part is getting it all back together, again i used a small mallet for tapping the new one back up in and sliding the bushings/washers/sleeve over it and getting them to fit snug, be warned though you will be tightening it down for about 5 mins until its snug

got the other side done today, also had the time to switch the old (not really very low miles) l69 over to valvoline max life full synthetic, and a new k&n oil filter (no pics yet of that) but heres the new one



and the old chewed up bushings, things felt like hard plastic when i got em out once again with a little help of the mallet and an electric impact wrench



car runs good now, only complaint is that my alternator belt, and my power steering pump belt squeal (cheap *** duralast belts) but i love how great she runs, and how solid she feels now

The ones in the above pic are WAY WAY WAY overtightenened...

The rubber should only be SLIGHTLY larger than the washer; maybe 1/16" larger. They shouldn't be mooshed and ballooning out like that.

Basically they're probably ruined.

But now that you've had some practice, and you know how cheeeeeeeeep and eeeeeeeeeeezy they are to change out, and how much of an overall improvement in the car that they make, it's time to go get some Energy Suspension or Prothane ones, and install them properly.

they aren't like that anymore, once i got the car back on the ground everything evened out

Might also want to check the swaybar mount bushings. If the end links were gone the bushings might not look too good either.

I've gone over (well under) everything pretty closely I've cleaned the underside up a lot and I'll probably be ordering a complete new bushing set from energy suspension this summer

No end link bushings: more of a death "jingle".

Wobbles or pulling are more serious and caused elsewhere.

it didn't pull much and the wobble could've been something else, i definitely felt movement form the front right side tire in the wheel as i said, and it doesn't pull anymore, just sorta drifted that way if i let go of the wheel for too long before, but new ones are a big improvement
