kyb
I have a 89 GTA with 30,000 miles. I'm redoing the whole suspension with moog and founders I'm looking at buying kyb gr-2 struts and gas-a just shocks. My question is are the kyb a better strut and shock then what originally came with my ws6 GTA ? The original struts and shocks aren't leaking but thought sense I'm redoing the rest of the suspension I might as well replace the struts and shocks at the same time . (The big K and B brands are out of the question at this time ) or should I hold off and keep the originals on for a while longer .

Re: kyb
Thanks for the replies. I read many were happy with the kyb's but wanted to know how they match up against the stock ws6 when new . I heard the ws6 came stock with delco/bilstein shocks I just don't want to feel that I downgraded in that area .

Re: kyb
I have no experience with the Koni or bilstein shocks.
I do have experience with the KYB "Gas A Just" ( Monotube design )on the rear of my car.
There just what I was looking for on my DD/Have a little fun car.
There a little stiff but are a IMO the perfect companion to the MOOG 5665 Constant Rate coil springs.
Here's a few videos to look at starting with this one from KYB =

Re: kyb
I have Koni yellows on my 92. They are fantastic and worth every cent. Tremo asked if KYB is good enough, good enough for what? Not my car, but I'm serious about autoX and Road racing. My second choice that I always recommend for people not interested in adjustable is Bilstiens.
I'm not trying to put down KYB, they are my third choice and I think they are a quality product. I have a set of gas-a-justs in my 69 camaro and I really like the ride. The gas-a-just have a stiffer compression valving for a performance "feel". The AGX are a great middle of the road adjustable shock/strut. A friend of mine had them in his street/drag Z28 for several years until he went with Viking coilovers. I don't have any experience with the GR2 but I imagine it would be an excellent factory replacement.
What's best for a car always depends on the use.

Re: kyb
I have KYB on my IROC, gas a just and G2 struts. I'm pretty happy with them and you can't beat the price. But I have to tell you the Koni yellow$ are always on my mind.

[QUOTE=brett89;6012003]Has anyone run the kyb with eibach prokit ? If so how has it held up ?[/Q
funny you ask this question, I had a prokit and kyb, I actually took the prokit out and put the stock springs back in, loved the stance but hated the ride, it was way to rough, feels perfect now
