tbi car with hood bump for outside air?
ok my car is a 91 firebird base but it has the 'bump hood' and all it does is let some heat out of the bay, im pretty sure the car the hood came on would have had an air cleaner that went up to the vent with a vaccuum powered flap so my question is if im correct and the right aircleaner for this hood works on my setup id be an easy cold air intake but i cant seem to find one anywhere at all iv tried hawks ebay yearone ect please help!

That woulsd be the KITT style hood IIRC also called the power buldge? Anyway yes there is a vacuum activated flapper that is hooked to the hood, opening @ WOT for cold air. If no one gets a pic up i can. I'll see what i can do.

ok so i am correct tho that this is that hood, iv see pics of them i just cant find one for sale and i would rather not throw 500 bucks at it ya know?

Mine is open.. I did away with that plastic piece, and put in some diamond shaped expanded steel. You can really hear that TBI sucking air.. Sounds like a blower..

i removed my insert as well but all it is doing is venting the engine bay on mine
