How to set timing on L03?

Hey guys. Just had to replace my intake manifold gasket (leaking coolant) and my match marking for the distributor and rotor wasn't perfect i guess, So now i'm at ground 0 as far as timing goes and I was wondering how you set the timing. I've never messed with timing before it all seems a bit complex to me.
Thanks a lot!

Re: How to set timing on L03?

pick up a coffee can and fill it with rocks. shake it. that is what you will be looking for if the timing gets to far off.

Re: How to set timing on L03?

no a bad lifter isnt as bad as an engine pining=pre detonation=destroying your engine.

Re: How to set timing on L03?

why not? Look down the front of the engine behind the water pump it should be there! Maybe it is the timing.

Re: How to set timing on L03?

Get it timed! A shop can bring it to top dead center for you and either install an aftermerket pointer or set it right for you
