TBI superchangers....

When I was at summit, they had a procharger hooked up to a holley carb by just incasing the carb with a metal housing with a tube runnin' to the blower. It was pretty trick, I figure it'd fit tbi perfect...

The new summit catalog has some good weiand/holley 144 blowers. They brought the price back down because of the resession I think. Or maybe no one was buying them when they raised the prices last time

what kinda horsepower would the holley 144 add to a slightly modded 305 tbi? if you were gonna do something like that wouldnt it be a good idea to either get bigger injectors or a holley TBI unit? also dont the blower like that take place of the intake manifold?

I don't believe that those blowers work with serpentine belt packages, yet. They were suppsoed to get a longer nose blower for TB's but since they already have a TBI blower for a truck, they probably won't do anything else untill they see demand.
I'd buy one for $1500 or less, FOR SURE!!!

Yeah...for that kind of money, I think I'd rather get a 6-71 blower and figure out how to put two TBI's on it!!! More boost, less money! So what if it sticks out of the hood a little bit <hehehe>

Shane Buss did this, he bought that blower for 86 tbi trucks, bolt on deal, he had to get a different hood though. Dont need a 2 bar map sensor either since the TB is before the boost. Seen it several times in fact they sell the kit with a "custom" chip so its pretty much a bolt on deal for any schmo with a tbi pickup truck. One of the mags had a how-to on it a little while ago

The one for serpentine belts is $1709 in the new summit catalog. But the TBI ones that are 50 state legal do start at $3k. they add $1000+ just for their legality. I wonder if their legality even extends to fbodies since they are for TBI trucks.

whats the P/N of the one in SUmmit for $1.7k??? I thught they had one for PARTIAL serpentine packages, not entire versions???
FYI, I'd still run a 2-bar MAP sensor AFTER the blower as the vacuum sensed before the blower wouldn't always correllate (sp) with actual boost being seen by the engine. ie MAP readings before don't always correlate to the same MAP 2-bar readings afterwards... Just the evil of blowers, plus, when/if the blower decays over time, you'd have to change the prom bit-by-bit to make up for the loss of boost correlation as well.
How about FastBurn/Vortec versions?????

It doesn't say anything about vortec heads but if the ports are big enough you should be able to work something out like Shane B. did on his since he has Vortec heads and a weiand.
The dedicated TBI ones are: hly-77-144csbe-1 and the polished version on it is hly-77-144csbep1 I think they do use a carb to TBI adapter plate like the old B&M roots charger packages had. They should also have EGR in the front like the Old B&Ms since Holley bought them out.

I just bought some E-Tec 200's from JEg's. Let's see how they compare to the other motor with FastBurn's I have. It'd be nice to get a blower NOW instead of buying an intake/brackets/etc taht I'll just sell in 2 months, anyway. OR I should do the MPFI I keep talking about... hmmmm

Hi,
I have a Procharger supercharger on my 95 TBI suburban and I don't see any reason it wouldn't fit a camaro. The innercooler ducting would have to be different but thats all I see.
Hope this helps,
Steve

not true. the SHORT version standard weiand blower, will work with the serp belt setup. it needs like a 1/4" spacer on the pulley. Do a search in the power adder board. There was a guy running one, fit almost perfect.

well, i would consider only making a 1/4" spacer, about as close to a bolt on as you can get. giving it its own driver pully is a nice route to go, but you only have 2 choices then, the much more expensive TBI Truck version of the 144, or you get to deal with much more fabrication to get the 142 long nose to work with serp belts.

It doesn't say anything about vortec heads but if the ports are big enough you should be able to work something out like Shane B. did on his since he has Vortec heads and a weiand.

Best part is that its designed to fit the OEM TBI. I'd bet that with very little work you could get it to fit the 670 Holley TBI.
