cam swap story
well i dropped my car off wednesday to get a XE262 installed at a local performance shop. i called them today (friday) and they said it would be done around 630. i go up there and they arent done yet so i am like ok thats cool. well after tinkering with it for a while, they get it started to do a break in and its smoking bad. i think the timing is way off. anyways they mess with it some more and then they cant get it restarted and it wasnt running very good. so they mess with it for about another 1 hour and a half and decide that they need to keep it and work on it tomorrow. only problem is that tomorrow is dyno day, and they probably wont have time to fix it. so that means i would have to wait until tuesday. i am so disapointed. i will say this though, that shop always does good work and im confident they will work everything out. so i might have to wait 3 more days for this. it did sound DAMN good though even though it wasnt really idled down and the timing seems to be off. i cant wait to finally drive a car with some power. ill keep everyone posted when i get this worked out.
forgot to add that the car next to mine in the shop, on the dyno, was a 99-02 trans am with a 100 shot of nitrous and a pro charger (i think) running 12 lbs boost. cars got more mods than ive ever seen. full roll cage, 4" exhaust, all the electronic stuff man has ever invented, drag radials, and pretty much anything you can think of. looking at it and hearing it almost made my day enjoyable.
