Can someone recommend me a cam?
First of all, it's an LG4 (I know it's slow, you don't need to remind me). Let me start by saying that putting a 350 in is out of the question. With that out of the way...
I've been looking at the Comp XE and Crane Powermax camshafts...
I intend to replace the heads, exhaust, and gears also.
Probably with S/R Torquers, Hooker headers/catback, and 3.23s or 3.73s...I'm starting from the bottom and working my way up.
I'm looking for a cam that would be a good match for this setup. I definitely want one of the two above mentioned camshafts, I'm just not sure what size is right.
If anyone has any suggestions for heads, feel free to give me your opinion also.

As long as you plan on doing the rest of the work I dont see any reason for not using the 268, but if you skimp use the 262 but dont expect mcuh if any improvment over stock.

I would go with the 262, Personally.
Its What im Running in My Lg4, and has Netted me 99 mph In the 1/4 Through the exhuast Manifolds.
I wouldnt Bother Going with the S/R Torquers Myself, Instead I would Pull the Stock heads and Do some basic Clean up On them.
If your a little more confident, there is a great article out there somewhere On porting these heads, I think its on the Standard Abrasives Website ?
the S/R Torquers are Simply that "Stock replacement"
If you Insist on New heads, a Pair Of Vortec's Milled down to keep Compression respectable would be a better Choice.
Car craft made 325 Flywheel Horsepower With the Vortechs, Edlebrock Vic Jr Intake, and Comp XE262H in a 80,000 LG4
But remember, with this cam,
dont expect mcuh if any improvment over stock.

Im using a XE268 in my 305, with mild stock heads. I have a 5 speed also. I have a little less lower end torque over the stock cam, but it makes up for it when she kicks in above 2000rpm. I dont have any driveability problems. It idles fine, with a nice lope at 750rpm. I think that the XE262 would be a good choice also.

Follow my recipe in my sig. Since you are using a stick you can get away with the XE262. I wouldn't go for the 268, though. It may feel alright but I'll bet $10 that the same setup with a milder cam would beat it.
