Dyno 2000, How does this sound for my setup?

Here is the screen shot of my setup with the new heads. Does this sound right? Any suggestions to get a some more HP out of it? A 700cfm carb gives me a few more HP.

Looks like Vortecs will be better, or should I just suffer a little now, in order to have it better later on, if I replace the cam?

Yeah, but didn't it run like 15s?

Thats why desktop dyno shouldn't be taken too seriously.

Yes, that was with the stock Goodwrench heads, I'm still working the bugs out, obviously I should be running faster than that.

hey

mark, what made you decide to go with the 270h cam???

the cam is really whats killing it..... can a hyd roller cam be used in that block without special parts like the 87 up's???

if so try a lt4 hotcam or comp 276hr.....

Your cam has 110LSA? You sure about that?

All the Comp XE series of cams come with a 110 LSA.

I believe they make a marine line of XE cams, however, that have a 112 LSA.

not bad mark, set up the vortecs with smaller valves, as the flow numbers are for the smaller valves. I found numbers on my 487 heads, and for me at least it seemed more cost effective to get a supercharger for max power.

I still think you have a major tuning issue myself. I have personally blown the doors off of mid 15 second cars and I have 1971 truck heads. I have the XE262 too. Can't you get different metering rods for the edelbrock carb? I know playing with that stuff on my quadrajet really made a difference.

They also have a line for TPI cars with a flat tappet cam, that have 112 LSA for the smaller cams and 114 LSA for the larger cams. The XE262 in my Cutlass has 114 LSA.
