some mod ideas please
its christmas break again, i get 3 weeks off from school and i have some cash saved up to purchase some good stuff for my camaro. its in fine runnning condition, just gave it a tune up a month ago when the tranny was replaced with a new one.
i was thinking of swapping out the rear end for something in the neighborhood of a 323 or 348 posi. but im still slightly confused as to what rear end to buy. My goal is to get into the 13's when im completely finished with my car.
i guess my ? is what rear end to go with? i would like to just go down to the local junkyard and pick one up from another 3rd gen. How much should i spend on a rear end like that.
does a rear end swap sound like the next step for me, or perhaps suspension mods. the camaro is 1986, and as far as i can tell nothing has been replaced except for regular matience?
thanks,
daniel

Well, 86's didn't come with the 350's. So thats obviously not stock.
The best "Bang for the buck" is gears. 3.42 is a good gear. Make sure you have LSD. If not, get a new rear. Look around for the gear ratio/LSD and you have something. Z28's and IROC's came with them, so be on the lookout.
