Mass air flow Sensor
My car keeps giving me the check engine light when the car gets hot and the code is for the MASS air flow sensor. The car is a 85 v6 MPI. I have replaced the mass air flow sensor and put a new computer in the car.
It still gave me the trouble so i put prom chips from a 86 chevy beretta with the same engine in it. still no change.. What other options do i have?

And since the V-6 engines only have a MAF power relay (no burnoff), half the work is done for you. Chances are you have a failing relay, poor relay connection, poor electrical connection at the MAF, poor engine grounding, leaking intake ductwork between the MAF and throttle body, or a vacuum leak on the engine.
Exactly what error code did you retrieve?

You'd better re-scan and verify the error code. a DTC 32 is NOT for a MAF error.
The MAF relay should be located on the firewall near the power brake booster. It should have a connector with four wires - a black/pink striped wire, a black/white striped wire, an orange/black striped wire, and a brown wire. A replacement relay is usually about $10.

thanks vader, i think i know what your talking about and i will try replaceing it. It might not be a code 32. it might have been a 34. This car has had so many codes come up in the last month that i get them all confused.

EUU,
In further researching the V-6 scheme, I discovered that the MAF relay is located near the battery, on the radiator shell/support. There is also a MAF fuse located along the inner fender just behind the battery. The wire colors I indicated for the MAF relay are correct.
