L98 vette heads

I just bought a pair of aluminum heads casting #128 for $100.
They are the non D port ones with 58cc chambers. What can I do to make these a decent set of heads? I plan on polishing the chambers and the exhaust ports and just smoothing out the intake ports with some 80 grit rolls. Since I bought them bare ill need valves. I want Manley Race Flo's. Can I go with 2.00 and 1.55 valves without shrouding or putting in bigger seat inserts?
Deos this sound good?

Yes.... The valves from a LT-4 or Fastburn head are the way to go. (bigger, lighter) You can go a little further on the intake porting. lots of potential there.

summit sells the manley raceflo valves you are looking for. they are 2.00/1.56" part #man11500-8 and #man11501-8. not in catalog though, gotta ask for em. definately the way to go i'd say. does not require new valve seats. also those heads can be ported for some good gains. stock they dont flow all that great though.

I was looking at the specs on the 2.00 and 1.55 manley valves and thery are a bit shorter about .010" then normal valve. This shouldnt cause any problems since the valve train is adjustable, right?

The exhaust ports are kind of poor on those. Some porting there will help quite a bit.
