All of a sudden - no spark. What gives?
I last drove the car about 6 weeks ago. About 3 weeks ago I tried to start the car and the battery was dead. I replaced the battery with an Optima red top. Car cranks, but no start.
It's an ex-LG4 carbed car that has a 350 shortblock under it. I checked and it's getting fuel. I pulled a plug, and it doesn't appear to be getting juice. I rested it first on the painted valve cover (duh) then on the exhaust manifold...same result both times.
Can an ignition coil just 'go out'? I noticed no degradation in performance the last time I drove it.
I still need to check the ground strap to make sure it hasn't come loose/broken. Anything else I should check? I've only owned the car a couple months and driven it about 4 times total so it's history is unknown.

Check for condensation under the cap first. But it is possible for the coil and control module to "just go out".

I will check for the condensation too since it seems that rear hood seal leaks for some reason and water builds up on top of the air cleaner.
