ok i bought a 350 now i tore my old LO3 apart..i got it down to the block now my question is when i rebuild it if i put a 350 crank it would be a 335 or something around there right.. but is there anything else to stroking the motor .. if so i would liek to do it cause i want to keep the block instead of throwing it away and getting another 350...

Your post is a little confusing but YES, if you put a 350 crank in a 305 you can build a 335!!! However, you have to have that 305 block clearanced for the 350 crank....you can't just stick the crank in there and make it work!! Also, it's a STROKER so you have to buy special 335 rods and pistons!! With all the money you would be putting into that you could build a 383 stroker outta that 350 block!!

No, No, No. The 305 and the 350 use the same length stroke, 3.48". The 400 uses a 3.75" stroke crank. If you stuck this in a .030 over 305 (.030 over) you'd get 334. Stick the 3.75" crank in a 350 (.030 over) and you get a 383. Stick a 3.48" crank in a 400 block and you'll get a 377.

I knew I was missing something!! Sorry about that! It's the 400 crank, not the 350 crank!! Couldn't remember since I pondered the 334 for about 2 hours and then decided it's a waste of money!!

well i like odd ball engines and combinations. if you wanted to stroke the 305 you need to know going in you'll spent the same money or more and not go any faster or quicker tan if you spent it on a 350 or larger engine. with that said i've got a boat load of money in a 266 v6 for a 85 camaro drag car. i also have a 336 in a 68 ss camaro. just to be normal i built a 355 for my sons camaro.

Whoa there...don't go wasting $400 on a 400 crank!! For about $600-$700 you can buy a complete 334 kit from Powerhouse out of california and the kit comes with a NEW stroker crank!! They don't have an on-line catalog but go to www.enginekits.com and you can get their email address to request a catalog by mail!! That's where I'm getting my 355 kit from! Also, almost all of their kits come balanced too!!

it's a good point, 350 crank in a 305, gets you a 305 with the wrong crank. and using a 400 crank is about a big waste of time and money. if you want to stroke one, buy one new made to fit your engine, not one needing to be cut down to fit. currently working on a destroked version with a guy making 269 using crank and rods from a L99 and 305 (.040 over) pistons. planning to run it 7k.
