Adjusting the Pedals?
My gas pedal bottoms out to the floor before I reach WOT, and is in an uncomfortable position, making any kind of "flooring it" not an option.
It is physically further back than the brake pedal, and just doesn't seem right.
I got down in there, and looked for a way to loosen the pedal, and move it closer to the driver, and further away from the floor, but I'm just not seeing it.
I've tried a search, but all I can find is adjusting the throttle cable in relation to the gas pedal.
Anyone else ever had this problem?
I tried to just bend the bar, but I don't have anything to heat it up with, and it's not bending with my force alone.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Something is amiss.
Either the throttle cable has stretched, the throttle cable housing has collapsed, or the throttle cable bracket at the carb is messed up.
There isn't any adjustment provision.

If the cable was messed up, shouldn't I be able to pull the pedal back up to where it should normally be? I can pull on it by hand, but it stays as far up as it already is. It seems like it would be almost easier to depress to WOT if I took the pedal face off, and just pressed on the bare bar. At least then I could throttle the entire range. Hmm... Any ideas after this?

Have your assistant check the throttle blades to see if you are getting WOT while you 'floor it'.
If not you may need to devise a McGyver fix of some kind.
My pedal mounts to the firewall with three longgggg screws.
Looks like I could put a spacer behind it and the screws would still work ok.
You might look into this.
You might also be able to change the 'bellcrank' ratio out on the throttle body or carb to get more nad faster throttle opening.

my size 13 cant floor it unless im stabbing it with my toes... just a thought, its kinda cramped down there

Stab it with your toes... See that seems to work for me. If I fold the pedal face back, and stab the bar down, it will go just about all the way. Maybe if I bought aftermarket pedals that were smaller? Jeez!

Just how many floor mats do you have under there?
Stretch, pedal arm deformation, or incorrect cable housing mounting are about the only ways the effective length of the cable would change.
