VSS?
Does anyone know where the VSS is located in a 91 L98. My buddy's speedo stoped working and we got the code for the VSS.

Hmm . . . code 24? I think the sensor itself might be near the tranny conv. clutch connector. (underside of engine/tranny, driver's side) That's strictly a guess though. Maybe you should try this post on the electronics board.

If electronic speedo, it's in the tailshaft housing where the cable used to connect for mechanical speedos. Failure would cause the speedo to quit working, which also means the VSS is out.
If a mechanical speedo, it's on the speedometer itself where the cable goes into the speedo. For both the speedo to quit and throw a VSS code, the cable would have to stop spinning the speedometer.

If you need a new VSS, I got one. I got it from GM when I was redoing my speedo gears during my 3.73 swap. If your interested email me at trebor07@home.com.
