Hot CD Ignition & Ignition Module
I recently blew, cooked (silicone baked good) a Delco ignition module after 12 months of running.
I did a search on the form and found many ICM failures for apparent different reasons. My setup is using a Crane Hi6 CD ignition (multi-spark) with a high energy coil and stock Delco ICM in my 305 TPI.
Now my plugs are gaped at .065" (plus wear & carbon) which is very large and I suspect that this high resistance used with the high energy ignition is just too much current for the Delco ICM?
I will replace with a new Delco ICM and regap to .040
or .045" and hope.
Can anyone offer words of wisdom, opinion or has had a similiar expeirence.
