lt1 cam question

lt1 cam question
I just received a cam from Ebay, guy selling said it was from 93-95 vette. When I received it I measured the lobes and sure enough looks like 450/460, which would indicate 93-95 vette. The question is though, there's a lobe that looks just like a circle where the fp lobe would be based on the info from the lt1 digest in the tbi section. Also, the cam shaft and lobes aren't smooth, they've got like flat spots all the way around. Is that normal or has this seen just too much wear?

well that lobe that looks like a circle is the FP lobe i believe it is called a concentric... as for flat spots... either more discription on locations, size or a pic to be sure

Here are a couple of images of the camshaft. You can see that the journals are not smooth around, this is consistent with the entire camshaft. The lobe which should be the FP lobe is just round, not concentric?

There should be at least three numbers stamped on one end or the other. Can you find them, and what are they?

I can't tell much from the pics.
The first one is of the back end of the cam... useless.
The second one has the front bearing journal in focus, but the FP eccentric (the first "feature" behind the bearing journal) is not. Also useless.
Take a pic of the cam where we can compare the center of the eccentric to the center of the front bearing journal. Like, note in this pic, how far different the eccentric's center is from the brg journal's center (it's "offset").

Man i don't think I would run that cam.... I think some of those lobes look pretty rough. Maybe take it by your local regrinding shop and get an estimate for cleaning it up.

gt, you should invest in some image editing software.
After minor manipulation of the image to render it viewable, yes you are right, there is no fuel pump eccentric. Where the eccentric should be, it's ground WAY down too far, and has that same rough finish that the spaces in between lobes all have.
You'll need to run an electric one or something.
The lobes all look fine to me. Nice and shiny where the lifter roller runs on them.
