Back to cruise control
Hey guys, I guess I have to start from the beginning. Sometime ago I had to replace my whole steering column (don't want to elaborate).
Anyway, after I replaced it was when my dumb a$s realized it did not have the cruise switch on it unlike my original one. The cruise module is still under the hood and stuff but I'm wondering if I can rewire it and put in a switch or do I have to get one of those old aftermarket type cruise control kits? Any decent help will be appreciated.

Re: Back to cruise control
if you just changed the column , and left every thing else intact . then all you need is signal arm assy. with cruise sw. . cheap and lots on ebay .

Yup, everything is intact but wouldn't I have to take apart the steering column to get at it?

Re: Back to cruise control
i dont think so . according to my service manual [ the real deal , from chevy ] there is a wireing protector , sort of a tunnel or tube on the lt. side of the column . when you go to replace , make sure lever is in center position , remove lever [ should pull straight out ] thread a straight piece of semi-straight wire up through the tunnel or tube . you should be able to see it in the hole lever came out of . hook that wire to new cruise wire and pull it down column . plug in , re-install lever and play .
