What L98?
I am looking to get either an Lb9 5speed or L98 auto camaro/gta for my next project and I was wondering if there are any differences in model years that I should avoid? I am leaning towards a lb9 and replace the 5.0 with a procharged 5.7/t56 combo but it depends on what I run into out there...if I can get a great deal on a realy nice 5.7 auto I might go that way. Basicaly I just want to do alittle homework before I make a purchase and know what to look out for...example I dont want to buy an 89 l98 and find out a week later they had realy bad transmission problems, weak cranks, or what ever else, ect ect.

Re: What L98?
There's no big issue to worry about.
If you're going to use the L98 engine, then you're one step ahead by getting a car with an L98 first, rather than swapping in a 350 to replace a 305.
However if you're going to use a procharger, then you'll probably be rebuilding the engine first anyway right?

Re: What L98?
I would like to get a lb9 so I could install a t56 and not have to install clutch pedal and what not because it would already be a manual...but if I find a good deal on a l98 car I will keep it an auto and yes motor, tranny will be rebuilt as well as install a dana 60 rear end. I was just wondering if there are and model years I should avoid like the plague. The motor swap would not be hard if going the lb9 to the l89 way as I can pick up a donor 89 camaro with l98 for cheap right now...as much as I would like a t56 I am leaning toward a l98 to begin with though.
