3d camaro model
As with the post below on drawing a camaro in paint, I don't know where to post this. Anywho, I want to make a 3d model of a 92 Camaro but I have no artistic ability so I need technical drawings or blueprints with front, side, top and rear views. Does any one know where I can get that. I've looked pretty hard on google and forums with blueprints to no avail. Better yet, does anyone want to do this for me, or have a model already? I'll be glad to pay for it. I want this so i can visualize different hood, wheel, paint combinations.

Re: 3d camaro model
Nevermind. I went to a site and put up a request and got a bunch of offers from freelancers and companies.
On another note, does this interest anyone else? Having a model of your year Camaro where you can change the wheels and hood and spoiler/wing and paint? I think it would be cool if we could somehow create a library of parts to be able to visualize what our cars would look like if we did this or that. I realize that this would only be interesting to people who want their car to look cool as opposed to those just about the power.

Re: 3d camaro model
i think it would be awesome if it could be made into a program where you chose your year and trim level (rs,z28,etc.) and show you a model where you could rotate it around and swap wheels and all kinds of stuff and if you really wanted to make it cool add an option to mold your own parts! if you havent already noticed im very interested lol

Re: 3d camaro model
I found these on another site I use for a resource for 3d models. There is a couple of 3rd gens on there. One for free even that might be able to be modded by someone who knows what they are doing.

and an awesone 91 that is not free...

Might be a place to start anyway

Re: 3d camaro model
Yeah I saw both of those before. I don't like the red one. I think it's really cheesy. The blue is great, but the ground effects aren't a 91 or 92.
I got a bunch of responses from my ad on 3do2, now I just have to choose who I want to give money to. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard at all to hire someone to do all the different ground effects and spoilers and hoods and wheels. It would probably get expensive, though. Then the other possible hard part would be how to easily swap the different parts and creating the textures for different paint jobs. When I get the 3d car made, I'm going to try to get the license to it as well, if it doesn't cost too much more. That way I would be able to distribute it free to anyone who would want it.
I really wish I had artistic ability. I can draw up anything technical with definite specs in cad, but anything with art to it and I don't have a chance.
I'll keep working on ideas and I'll post back here when new stuff happens.

Re: 3d camaro model
The guy who did the blue model that nerv posted a link for ended up doing my model. It turned out great. Here are two renders. The paint scheme is really dark grey with black stripes. One is with black pinstripes, one is with chrome pinstripes, and one is with dark grey pinstripes. He also did two wheels, stock RS ones and the ones you see in the pictures.

Re: 3d camaro model
I know this is probs a dead post, but I did a 3D model of a fifth gen last year (I was modifying it to see what it would look like as a 5 seat passenger car) and its actually really easy, I'm thinking of doing a model of my 86' if anyone wants if it when I'm done I can post it here.
