wind shield wiper motor on the rs

i tried searching but there is no direct answer to this question

n i posted in here since i have a tbi and its a rs

well i went to get the car on the road again , after storage from winter.

i realized that the windshield wipers work about 2 -3 inches up and then go bak to regular park position .

they only activate at full speed.

i looked for bent arms and found nothing out of the ordinary.

i also swapped the wiper motor with another used one and still have the same problem.(can i be that unlucky that both me be faulty)

i looked in the motors and see nothing wrong with them.

what could it be?

i need the help guys thank you

p.s. what pisses me off is that they worked before it was put to storage and i remember because the last day the car was used was during a minor snow storm.

Re: wind shield wiper motor on the rs

It's probably the wiper control module ... although I don't remember anyone else describing the same problem you have. And you changed the motor and still have the same problem. Each of your motors had a module attached?(the black plastic part with the electronics inside) So I find it hard to believe they're both doing the same thing. Ok, This is like thinking outloud... I can't help you sorry

Re: wind shield wiper motor on the rs

I'd be leaning more towards the wiper switch itself. There are tests you can run that are listed in a Helm's manual and probably others as well.

Re: wind shield wiper motor on the rs

That happened to me, in the rain no less. Check the linkage at the wiper motor, i found the bolt was spinning when it wasn't supposed to be. I believe all I needed to was tighten the bolt.

Watch the bolt inside the cowl as its turning, thats how I figured it out. I think it was jammed.

Nah seperate problem. Its pretty common, mine doesn't work either. Take the washer pump out and with a hose on the suction side and the other end in a galss of water apply 12V. It should come on and start squirting water.

The other problem is, when the pump is off the fluid runs back into the resevoir and the pump has to reprime. They say to run the hose underneath the booster, so it doesn't drain. Didn't work for me though. I'm going to replace it with a washer tank with the pump built into the tank.

Burnouts are fun in the rain, but not seeing where you're going ... not so much.

Re: wind shield wiper motor on the rs

Burnouts in the rain are for underpowered fwd pieces of crap.
Same goes for burnouts in gravel.

LOL, I guess I meant fish tails. I definitely don't need rain to do a burnout.
