Air intake Ducting

Hi I was wondering if anyone has done the following?
I am looking at cutting two big holes one in each of the bottom of the air filter housings & then running some wide diameter plastic ducting from the air filters down to just behind the driving lights. My reason for this is obviously cold air into the engine without having to change all the plumbing under the hood for a cold airbox.
My questions are 1. how would I attach the ducting to the underside of the air filter boxes and 2. would this block cold air from getting into the engine compartment for cooling of the engine etc?

Pretty sure I've seen a member who has done that. Fabrication forum, perhaps? TPI forum? Don't remember where it was posted.

where did they guy put the battery?

why not notch the hood and run a forced type of air that way. have you ever seen one done that way? that way you dont clutter the engine compartment and get the air from outside the restriction of the engine compartment.
you sure look like you know the topic.

Re: Air intake Ducting

alright heres a little update.. i went out and got the ducting. seems kinda thin but it looks like itll do. you really gotta make sure theres not access ducting because i ended up with a little. anyways i got one done now im onto the other side. for the first one it took alot of modification to the ducting i even got 9" and it didnt fit over the bottom of the air filter or the fog light tubes. took alot of duck tape :P but i made it work. hopefully it works good ill try to remember to post pictures.
