I've got an 84 T/A that I recently put a new 350 into, I finally got it running but it's giving me a check engine code of 43--Low voltage at electronic spark timing circuit. Does anyone have an idea what this could be from?
I am running a CC Qjet and have everything hooked up and running. Timing is set to 9* advanced without the distributor hooked up. Should I be looking at the distributor, the module...something else? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I had the same code set in my GTA that was due to one of the electrical plugs not seating in the ignition module completely. Check your connections on the distributor, clear the codes and see if it comes back.

Mine ended up being the bigger connector of the two that plug into the ignition module. it was plugged in and the little lock mechanism thing was even engaged, but for some reason i just didnt get it seated all the way into the plugand it ended up setting an EST code.

LOL for some reason I"m not seeing this in my head. You not talking about the part that is inside the the cap, but the other end right? The one you normally disconnect when you set your timing?
On the ignition module (which is attached to the distributer by two screws, underneath the cap) there are three electrical connections.
1. Under the cap, two wires
2. and 3. are outside of the cap...one big, one small.
The ground wire for the entire circuit is in the bigger connector, mine wasnt making full contact even with the connector plugged in.
Unplugged, ran a continuity check on the ground wire....checked O.K., plugged it back in and noticed it seated further in than where it was when i pulled it out. Code hasnt come back yet and its been almost a month.

Cool, thanks, I will take a look at it tomorrow. I also noticed that my knock sensor wire melted to the header, at least the black tubing did, so I"m going to re-splice that wire and take out the part that got all melty, maybe that has something to do with it as well.

ok, got the new wire spliced in and the code went away...however now the car wont stay running again. it will start and stay running only so long as i keep my foot on the gas....currently in a autozone parking lot. swapped out the egr on a hunch to no avail. out of ideas now.
