help! my son sprayed too much starter fluid

I was trying to start my 91 RS and my son decided that while I was cranking and he thought it was going to start, to continuously spray the starter fluid. It started a fire, which continued to burn probably 5 mins. Now the car won't even turn over. What damage has been done??

pull th spark plugs, crank the engine for 5 seconds and put them back in, should be fine unless and wires or anything burned up!

Will try that in the morning. Thanks for the reply. I hope nothing burned, as I would have no idea where to go from there!

Re: help! my son sprayed too much starter fluid

If it's a V6 it'll have a MAF sensor. It can easily be destroyed by a back fire or burning fuel/starting fluid.

Re: help! my son sprayed too much starter fluid

yeah, it should allow you to turn the motor over and pump it all out
