Making Expositions at The Carb...
ok so i just changed my distributor cap and spark plug cables...it struggles to turn on now...:/...i have to spray so carb cleaner in the carb to get it started..if i hit the gas pedal it will turn off...i turn it on again and it starts up again with no trouble....i let it run for a lil bit but when i give it gas again it does lil explosions but it stays on so they i give it gas and it does the same thing if i rev it up high it wont do that...it will only do that when its idle-ling...

Re: Making Expositions at The Carb...
Always check the basics first.
Check your cap and wires. Sounds like a timing issue.
Make sure the cap was installed correctly and the the firing order is right for the wires.
I once mistakenly wired an HEI distributor like you would a points distributor. (wires all moved clockwise 1 terminal from where they should be.) ran sorta like what yours is.
