Oil leaking on exhaust y-pipe
I was under the car today trying to see how I'd line up the new exhaust if I did it myself and I notice there was a large wet spot on the underside of the y-pipe after it connects by the passenger tire. After touching it, it seems like oil and seemed to be fresh being that it was wet.
I'm confused if it is oil how that would happen? Anyone else have this happen? Rear main seal?

Re: Oil leaking on exhaust y-pipe
Odds are the oil is leaking onto the pipe further up and just collected there as it is a low spot. Look for any places around the back of your engine that look oily... could be coming from just about anywhere.

I can't see sh*t back there. There's way too much packed in there for me to look at all.

Most likely, its coming from either the valve cover gasket, the intake manifold gasket, or the oil pressure sender.

Re: Oil leaking on exhaust y-pipe
Well I replaced the oil pressure sender last month and rechecked that to make sure there was no oil and there isn't.
I have smoke coming from the passenger side and that's where on the y-pipe I saw the oil so it makes sense that it's leaking on that side. I can't see much of anything with the A.I.R. equipment there. Is there a trick to finding the leak without a lift?
