Re: bad day at island raceway nj please help!!!

well i left it at an sts up where it broke down and the guy called me up monday and said the problem he found was that the coil fell out of the distrubutor and the screws came loose and he couldnt believe it was still turning over ,so he but a new distributor on and he said it was fine ...but i asked him abount the suuden loss of coolant in the reserve and he wasnt sure ...then he calls me back and said the water pump was leaking and needed to be replaced and said the vaccum from the reserve was sucking all the fluid out but im not having him do the water pump cause hes trying to charge me 300 bucks id rather to it my self so does that sound like a reasonable explaination or make sense to any one or do you still think its something worse ? also does anyone use a hypertech chip on their 350 and is it normal for the check engine light to always be on ? on warmer days it wont come on and my car idles higher and looses alot of power???

Could be a bad coolant switch in the intake manifold, so when its really warm out, your car is thinkings its -40 out, just a thought, but check the codes and that will unvail clues

Possible coolant temp sensor or manifold temp sensor. Yes, the water pump leak would account for your coolant loss.
