coolant leak - pic

finally saw today where the puddle of coolant i keep seeing is coming from.

there is a pretty small hole right at the circled area in the photo, coolant is bubbling out and creating the puddle to the right of it.

intake manifold gasket leaking?

Re: coolant leak - pic

Nope, that was the original suggestion a few months ago. I even redid the stat housing jsut in case. Its dry as a bone around the housing.

I clearly saw and heard bubbling coming right up thru a small hole right where i circled. Next time i will youtube it lol.

Re: coolant leak - pic

there is a coolant passage right there, so it could be an intake gasket.

Re: coolant leak - pic

Yup, that would be the intake gasket.

Be comforted in knowing that if it's leaking between that port and the outside world right above it, there's about a 99.99999999999% chance that it's also leaking between that port and what's just below it.... which would be, the crankcase. You're getting antifreeze in your oil.

You need to fix that RIGHT NOW. Put down your firecrackers and beer and get out there and take care of it, before the antifreeze turns your oil into some kind of sludge paste that lubricates NOTHING and your motor blows up. That SUX.

At least Im not the only one who cant immediately (or still) tell from all the choices.

Im thinking of just ordering this one, its maybe a few dollars more but you get the rest of the TPI gaskets, injector o-rings, etc. In the case I rip one accidentally it would be nice to already have.

By the way my oil looks fine, but thanks for the advice, and I am going to replace the gasket soon as I can. I was actually prepping it for storage while I go abroad for a few months and heard it. So wont happen till I get back.
