Third gen axle to fourth gen swap

Car: 89 camaro
Engine: 355
Transmission: 700r4 w/huges 3000 stall
Axle/Gears: 3.73 posi
Third gen axle to fourth gen swap
I have an 89 camaro with a 10 bolt in it. A friend of mine wants to buy it for his fourth gen since his recently took a few teeth off the gears, my question is are the third and foruth gen rear suspension setups the same other than breaks such as coil spring mounts control arm/panhard bar mounts and what not. hoping to just switch them out in the next few days if they are. Any information would be awesome thank for the helop

is the third gen more narrow or is it the other way around ad will it still work if we do the swap?

forthgen rears are four inches wider than third gen.two per side.
