Boxsters arent fast enough to wear the name "Porsche". there was this guy at my local track a few weeks ago running a new Boxster S with the ttags still on it. he was running low 14s all night. eventually, he was paired up with me, and i just blew his doors off (13.5 to his 14.3). when we got back in the staging lanes, he came right over to me and asked what i had done to my car. i explained my simple mods, and he was floored. he couldnt believe his $40000 "sportscar" was destroyed by a 13 year old Vette

I have no trouble believing a healthy 350 could beat a boxster S
You didn't say if you left a light or started from a roll.
From the info 89camaroRSV6 posted above, it looks like the S's make their power at a little higher RPM, and if Gta_Paladin was in the right part of his powerband it wouldn't be to hard of a kill.
They're light little cars, and from what I hear they handle good and run decent 1/4 times, but if he started from a roll, the lack of torque would kill the porsche. I killed a non S boxster, haven't got an S to race me yet.
Lets not confuse these things for real Porsches.

ummmmm... i dont really understand this statement. you say a 350 isnt enough to beat a Boxster S because it weighs less than 3000lbs? tell that to the guy i raced then i not only beat him, i destroyed him. that 13.59 that i ran against him wasnt even my best time, had he ran against one of my 13.44 runs, he REALLY would have been humiliated!

and even if they did race from a roll guess what... you can downshift to put the car in it's powerband you don't have to take off from 35 at your cruising gear.... but instead drop it down to 2nd or even first if you have enough room left
