New stangs are TOO fast!

man...I hated to see this day but...those new stangs (mach 1 and svt cobra) are too quick! I mean come on...a super charger, 6 speed and 390hp stock. As much as I would love to hand one his ***, I am not sure I can do it anymore. Anyone else out there had experiences with really, really fast stangs out there?

Yea, I've had my *** handed to me by a turbocharged fox body GT on more than one occasion. of course, 596 ft. lbs. of torque to the wheels will do that to you.

:hail: turbos

bah..gimme some time with the LS1 . I like a qoute in someone's sig on LS1.com..it states

"Motor Trend: "We feel bad for the camaro SS driver who mistakes a '03 cobra for a '01 cobra"

"I feel bad for the 03' cobra owner who mistakes my car for a stock camaro SS" "

No car is unbeatable. Just keep modding and they'll be in the rearview before you know it.

Yes, I have my answer to the '03 Cobra, it's called a set of Pro Topline Lightning's, and a Procharger.

Coming to an Iroc near you, WINTER 2003!

Yeah, for 2004. I wish they kept the Mach 1 as a model to fill the gap between the Cobra and the GT. The gap is getting big now.

As for the Boss, are they going with Boss 281, or are they gonna bore the 4.6L out to 5.0 liters and give us a throwback Boss 302?

I'd like to see them bring back the Boss 302. I think it would sell.

It'll be a spray-bore 5.0 from what I've heard. Think FR500 and you're on the right track...

Ive already seen them being modified(lighting pulley,K&N,Chip, exhaust) and going mid 11's on the STOCK radials!!!
I want one.

58K What EXACTLY do you call "MOLESTING"???Which I resent the implication, first people bitch cause these cars"get put in gagrages and never driven , then they bitch if people drive them and modify them...

Id sell it to anyone on this board for 10.8K.

If I hadn't done all the work to my car I would rather have a TTA also!

Ya, but the 88 was speed density (unless yours is from Cal.) and mine is Mass Air equipped.

No, I wouldn't trade, I have way too much fun racing in my Mustang club and I wouldn't trade that for a new Z06!!

SD cars were faster stock.

I have a conversion sitting on the shelf if I ever need it.

Sounds like a nice car, since you enjoy it so much, thats really what its allabout.

Sell a TTA for a 03' cobra? You're tapped in the head my man tapped in the head...The rarity alone makes it something extremely special. I'd never sell my firehawk for a 03' cobra. It'll be a car some day that people will say "man look at that thing..that's a real muscle car". How many supercharged cobra's do you think they're gonna make from here on out..? Tons..

Well, up here, they don't go for less than $65-70$ thousand. So they're pretty scarce. I have yet to see one or hear of one that someone has seen. With a price tag like that, not any ordinary Joe can go and pick one up, so odds are that whoever does buy one, probably won't mod it to much and if they do get mid 11's... Well 12lbs boost on the 383 should work out quite nice.

Well I might know of a 87 GN VIRGIN car for sale I could hook you up and you could get it for $5K. youd need to put 2-3 K in it for it to be a SUPER nice car but right away its still a good driver.

Email me for more info and the # BUT ONLY IF YOUR SERIOUS!!!!

BTW I always know I caould buy another TTA if I really wanted to later.

That's cool..it's too bad my firehawk has me broke for quite some time now. I tried to get a GN after i sold my IROC but it's too hard to get a loan for it. And Most banks don't give enough in personal loans to buy one. Hopefully in the next 2-3 years i'll be able to pick one up cheap and mod the living hell out of it. I had found the perfect one for 9k. 60k miles te-44,adjustable wastegate, dutweiller cam, dutweiller intercooler, tons of other mods..it had a small cage and everything. It did need paint though. It felt like a solid 12 second ride on street tires and 18#'s of boost. With slicks and more boost it would have seen 12.0's to high 11's. dam..i love those cars

When I sent Prescision Turbo all my motor info from the mods over the winter, I wanted to know if i needed a bigger turbo, they said my combo should run high 10's low 11'swith the current turbo, just make sure I got GOOD gas when I turn it up.

Phil

SO far IM TO CHICKEN to try it. hehe

Thanks..I like it alot,it's fast in a straight line and definitly could outmanuever my IROC. It's all around great car and for the $22k i paid for it, it was worth every penny(how i talked the dealer down from $28k i don't know). I was actually considering a brand new mustang GT for the same price but then I went and drove the firehawk,a couple Z's and a couple SS' and WS6's and I realized the mustang would have been a bad choice. I ordered my whisper lid this week and hopefully i'll be able to snag 5.0 mustang's drag radials off him next week and go back to the track and hope for some 12.9's. I think I can do it.

Not a new one..the new C5's with an LS1 are $40k and up. And don't kid yourself about the price of a new '03 cobra. The cheapest i've personally heard of a coupe going for was $35k. Most are near $40k. Still not bad at all for the performance they deliver from the factory.

Ok well every single coupe around here is listed no more than 36k. You must be thinking about the verts. (40k)

Where I live you can't test drive a Vette or a Camaro unless you put a $5000 down payment on it. When my dad was looking for a new LS1 he couldn't drive the SS they had, but another dealer let him drive their Formula without any problems (go figure)!

Around here Vettes go for 38,000-55,000, the new LS1 Camaros and Birds went (not many left) for 25,000-35,000, and the new Cobras run from 35,000-40,000 if you can find an SVT dealer nearby!

Well then buddy if I were you I would buy all the year old $30,000 Vettes you can find and sell them to other states. Around here a year old car goes for only about $3,000 less than a new one. Sorry but I find it very hard to believe you
