RX-7 vs. Firebird

What does a stock RX-7 run a 1/4 in? This kid has a 94 rx-7 and he keeps running his mouth. Now I know he would kill me right now with the pos tbi, but im not racing him until i get my LT1 swap finished so i can take his 25 dollars which he said he wanted to race me for. Everybody has told me this kid cant drive worth crap. one guy i know has a 96 civic hatchback with a gsr (b18c1) motor fully rebuilt and runs 13.5 in a 1/4 and he told me that he killed the rx-7 and said it wouldnt be anything to worry about one i have finished my swap. what do all of you think?

that motor, bone stock with crappy exhaust, in a thirdgen on a tire will run mid - low 13s. Welcome to LT1 land

Does he have any mods. It doesn't take much to make those cars fast. You may not need your LT1 swap just yet if he runs slower than 16's or so. I am sure RX7speed will chime in.

why do I need to be brought into any post here

as far as the 94 rx7. as is with him driving the car bad you will still get spanked. if he knows how to drive it wouldn' be pretty.

after the swap you might win but till the swap gets done it's all monkey spank anyway

Like I said early i know he would kill me right now, but this kid i dont think has a chance with my motor swap and a few upgrades. I have herd he is running high 14s. I know that rx-7s are fast and it dosent take much for those rotarys to run. The kid dosent have anything but an aftermarket blow-off valve. I SHOULD be running low to mid 13s when im done. AND why are you on this forum Mr. rx7speed anyways? do you have a thirdgen camaro or a firebird? or do you just like to dis them? just curious?

with just a BOV he has no real performance gains to it.

as far as I why I am here? I donno just talking to a bunch of r<x>ednecks for the last 5 years of my life sounds like fun. why else would I be here? I don't own a thirdgen or a camaro so the only other option you gave me was that one .

but since you asked I will go ahead and answer you

https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sea...er&userid=8999
or if you prefer this format
https://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/sea...der=descending

and will agree that after your swap you prolly will beat him. but till that point the swap is actually in progress talking about it is just monkey spank. just like me talking about putting a b16a motor in my honda.

either way have fun with the race win or lose kid

Oh by the way I wasnt trying to be mean or anything I read what i wrote and it sounded kind of harsh. sorry. But yeah a b16a is a bad little motor. are you going to get a b16a2 or b16a3? i almost dropped a b16a2 into a civic but ran into a good deal on the firebird. I still want to do this but just dont have the money. also i figured that the b16a2 wouldnt be good because of the obd-2. if i do the swap now i want to find a a3 so i can put it into a 93 hatchback.
