I don't think your cam is a 290/290 at .50 with a .447 lift. That sounds like a stock eliminator cam LOL it's probably a 290 advertised, which is still a healthy cam.

What heads are you running?

It's a 350Z, not ZX. I think you'll beat both of them. RSX's can be quick N/A with an ECU reflash and cams and stuff, but this one is nothing special.

You should beat the RSX but the 350Z will likely hang if not beat you.

350Z's can be pretty quick with N/A mods like cams, intake, and exhaust and stuff also.

Ive personally raced a 350z or two in my 89 L98. i would pull hard on him thru first and then they would get within a fendor or so and pretty much stay there before i shut down. (50-60) Light to light i would beat em, and on the freeway im sure they would walk me.

You arent running the LTR setup (and my car was pretty stock excluding free mods and full exhaust) so i would say you wont have much of a problem with these cars.

I think as long as you can consistently run in the 13's on the street with little driver error you should have the 350Z.

Comp cam Lift .447/.447 Duration 290/290 Duration is .050

Even if that duration is advertised it still seems high for that lift.

I don't think the duration numbers you are giving are at .050 lift. I think it is total duration. 290 duration at .050 (what is typically advertised) would be top fuel style. What heads are these "stockers". Do you have casting numbers?

Normally a cam with .447 (assuming 1.5 RR's) and a 114LSA will have around 215 or 200 duration at .050.

Is that a Crane "Blueprint" cam? If so it has 222/222 dur @.050 w/ .447/.447, it's an old *** design from a factory hi-po 327ci engine.

I don't know how well that will run in some smogger motor w/ low compression and crap heads, it's kinda an outdated cam. You're probably only pushing around 300hp max, safer bet might be 275.... Should be a close run w/ the 350z, I think the track model has 300hp as well, over the 287hp in the standard models or whatever... {Edit - 2006 models all have 300hp if they're a manual, 287hp for autos according to a page from a quick google search}

Practice your launches and make sure you don't spin too badly out of the hole and maybe you can take him. Hard to say how well yours will run.

Track models are lighter with different wheels, not any more horsepower.

19Kilo, I forecast that the 350Z will completely waste you. You have junk heads and no compression, you are lookin at about 260hp. My guess is your car runs 14.50s at best. Prepare to be handled.

Originally that's all it was, they had the extra HP over the standard models in 2005 only apparently from some reading (along w/ the 35th anniversary edition). The base and touring models or something still got the 287hp setup in 2005. 2006 now they all get the 300hp engine if equiped w/ a 6spd manual, back to 287 w/ the autos...

What heads are you running. Which "stock" heads do you have. GM produced hundreds of "stock" heads over the years. MorTec, Inc. Home Page

That dosent sound right. Maby 254/254 avertised duration. My cam is 224/230 @ .050 with .477/.480 lift. For a cam with 254 duration @ .050 they usuraly have around .555 to .6 lift.
