Im not sure why everyone is talking about them like they are some godly horse... manual or not..
Ive beaten plenty of v6 ponies with my old 92 rs witch was a 305 tbi, nothing done to it except a borla cb... It wasnt a drag or anything, just from a red light to a random point, but still im not the greatest at "raceing"

Its probably gonna take a twin turbo 383 smallblock to beat him. The LO3 is an unpolished terd.

V6 Stangs can run into the mid/high-15s pretty easily, especially the 5spd cars. If you don't get him out of the hole, your done. If its a long enough race, your done anyways. Better plan on a massive holeshot if you want a chance.

Thats what my friends stock V6 ran at the track. Driven well they can be mid even low 15 second cars, but most arent driven well!

I raced a '99 V6 5 spd stang in my sh*tkickin' 2 door '92 Merc Topaz v6 5 spd for laughs.
I beat him by a car length.
Bring on your L03.

LOL. I wont be racing anything except Yugos in my LO3. Well untill I ditch the TBI and go with a carb/cam/exhaust.
My 91 LO3 would get its butt kicked by a 99-04 190hp V6 mustang. I bet it could take a 94-98 V6 mustang, they only had 150hp.
I cant wait to start tearing this bad boy apart. I'm going to get before and after 1/4 mile times and a dyno just to see where the turd is now and after the engine work.

Is his car in good shape? My buddies got one with a stick, and it has 108,000 on it. And let me tell you, it is dirt slow.

And your not stock soooooooo....
My 03 Dodge ram cummins would kill my LO3 in its current state. The car really needs another 50-60 hp and to rev higher than 5k rpm. The stock HP for a LO3 is what 170hp/255tq. Figure in drivetrain loss and your probably making 140-150 RWHP. Not good.

oh noo,i dont believe that at all, this guy in a blue 96 ish GT 5 spd raced me on the interstate,i got 150XXX on the ticker and its all stock,L03 automatic,we were doin about 80 and i hit drive and he hit 4th a second before me and i took him...i dont think my car is completely stock,but..its just a 305 with a open element air filter and the speed limiter removed, well hooked to a switch. i was wonder how fast it would be now,i had it at 4 grand and the speedo was past the odo reset.so idont know, about 135 140??the only way the rustang will get you is if you dont give it hell.the bore of a 350 is 4 inch, the bore of a 305 is like 3.890 or somthing, its not far from a 350,if you start at a rolling start at 20 or 25 in second, downshift to 1st and floor it,youll shoot to 40 mph and no time, and i can run my car in 2nd to 75 at 5600. they are built like tanks.but 155 hp and 255 ft/lb torque add up when you get into around 2500 to 4200 rpm.and im thinking my car has a shift kit cuz dont they shift from 1st to second even when in 1st? i can put it to the floor and hold it till it blows.i think thats what im goin to do so my dad will gimme money to help build my 383! and the best gears i heard for these cars are 3.73's.4.10 are to steep for this engine.mines got 3.08 now and im gonna put some 3.73 with a posi.its limited slip now and its imbaressing doin a 1 tire fire half the time, and even when both spin,it takes 20-30 second to get into the 3 grand range where she opens up.

Axle/Gears: waiting on a new rear!!!!
Then he said he wants to find a older fox body. I told him I know where one is and if he helps me drop my Completely stock 95 LT1 firebird at the shop today and take me home I'll show him were it is. Well I drive my car to the shop and gave him direction to the place I see him pass by so I get in my firebird and go after him. I caught him and made him follow me back and just so happens we come up to a stop light with two lanes. I yell over too him and say show me what that thing can do he was like yeah lets hit'em. The light turns green an I just waited for him to kick he goes off spinning and gets a car in front then I hit the gas spun a little and jet passed him almost instantly! I pull a car on him then let off for him to catch up then he gears down again to try to pass me an I just hit the gas again and left him in the dust. The whole time we were driving to go see the older mustang he just kept giving me excuses as to why he lost!

I have raced my friends 2000 v6 5spd stang many times with the same exact outcome. I will put about a car on him until about 20 then he passes me puts around 3-4 on me until around 80 or so then I slowly catch up and we are always dead even at around 110-115

Hey If you you wanna add a bunch of power for like 300 bucks. Just put some flow tech Headders on, and there Y pipe. Buy a 20 dollar open air element. Im not too accurate on how well Virtual Engine Calculator is but i Put my Trap speed that i just ran with these mods i listed and it said i have 216 HP at the Fly. and 184 RWHP. Im almost positive Id blow a stock V6 Stangs doors off.

My very good friend has a 99 mustang. He had a v6 auto (Now PI 4.6 w/bolt ons/ t-5, gears, tires). With his v6 auto, I beat him. Try to keep the race around an 1/8th mile because he will start reeling you in. My method to beat my friend- simply outluanch him. I came out of the holeshot without any spin (open diff, so sometimes I do spin). I jumped a car instantly, and when we left off his front bumper was at my gas door. Now when we race, All I see is a mustang bus lengths in front of me lmao
I doubt this kid can launch a manual car very well, so I would think he would spin a bit, giving you the hole shot.....goodluck
BTW, My LG4 had 185,000 miles at the time. Stock, advanced timing. 3.23 open diff.
