91' Vs. Prelude 5spd

My g/f just bought a 91' B4C with the L98, it has 3.23's and 7004r. Bone stock. Her friend drives a Honda Prelude 5spd and is talking loads of **** about how her car is so much faster, etc. I'm not sure what year it is but i think its under a 97'. Before the race there will be minor mods done to the camaro but nothing major. We will be doing this race at the track.(1/4 mile) How will the Camaro do against both engines making different power. (2.3L 160hp vs. 2.2L 195hp). What do you guys think?

How would it do vs both engines..... L98 vs the one prelude engine making 160 hp and the L98 vs the other prelude engine making 195hp. Basically i'm wondering how the l98 will do vs either motor b/c i don't know what engine the prelude has in it. Sorry for the confusion.

Re: 91' Vs. Prelude 5spd

Gotcha.

If its the 160hp the l98 will layeth the smacketh down.
The 190hp on the other hand, could be close depending on the preludes weight compared to the camaro.

Either way I say the camaro has my vote.

Re: 91' Vs. Prelude 5spd

the camaro should be at least mid 14s if driven well in good air (240hp B4C). the Prelude with the 195hp motor will be high 14s AT BEST

Z28 hands down

BTW- how are you coping with your GF having a faster car than you

your g/f not only wants to mod her camaro, but she OWNS one! damn thats cool. mine doesn't want to sit in my camaro, she's afraid of it, lol. this will probably be the a classic story of the racecar vs. the ricecar.

Re: 91' Vs. Prelude 5spd

CAT FIGHT! LOL

My lady has a 2001 prelude 2.2vtec 5spd. Super nice car and it has a lot of zip...

Its still a 15s car though!

My car is a 91 gta l98 mild bolt-ons chip...
Theres no way a honda prelude will pull on a stock l98. Trust me i love the H22 motor and i drive her car every day but its just no match. Still a good race.

Theres nothing wrong with the little honda getting smacked around abit lol. But the pre-race smack talk is pure comedy. Even if your g/f spins a bit off the line she could make it up.

Re: 91' Vs. Prelude 5spd

Yea she should smoke it. Even the Vtec Preludes powered by the H22a engine are not that fast. out of all the engines honda makes the H22a is pretty low on the totem pole, mainly due to the fact there extremely heavy cars.
