modded 3.4 iron head vs. ford 3.8
Guy at my school has a mustang 3.8 with some mods(I am pretty sure he didn't do them himself...since its obvious talking to him he doesn't know much...) anyways, surprisingly enough the 3.8 only has 145 hp and 215 torque, so my 3.4 iron head is actually a reciprocal match of 160 hp and 200 torque, probably gonna race him when I get mine running again. I just think its kind of funny gm vs. ford, for the v8s, gm goes bigger, and ford goes better, but for the v6s it seems to be the other way around, gm goes better, and ford goes bigger...
At any rate, should be interesting, I think I will win though, my car has more mods than his. Plus I know what I'm doing(mostly anyways, that ECU swap is getting the best of me...), lol.

Uh, my car weighs only about 3000 lbs or so, and has a ported and cammed 3.4 with full exhaust, gutted dual snorkel with K&Ns and a tune, considering a stock 3.4 runs 16.6 I think its safe to say I'll probably be in the high or maybe mid 15s...Not that I would say that's fast, but I wouldn't say its slow either.

Re: modded 3.4 iron head vs. ford 3.8
Just looked up stock 1/4 for the mustang 3.8(exact same year even) and its 17.3 o.O, that IS slow....seems like it should be quicker than that for making 15 more hp than the 3.4 but 15 less torque....what gives...

I've owned a 98 mustang v6 auto and they are dogs ungodly slow. But I've also owned a 2000 mustang 5 speed with bolt ons and its nite and day. It was about even with my 97 3800 camaro 5 speed.

first think fords dont run better than chevys. especially when you compare the 4.6 to ls1. buuut the 3.4 vs 3.8 should go chevy's way no problem

94-98 3.8 is slowwww
99-04 3.8 has some umphh in it (split port heads/intake)
Ls1 (347 ci) vs a 4.6 2v is not a fair fight just saying stock for stock. Being biased on brand is silly how about we compare the ls motors to the new 5.0 lol. Both manufactures have had ups and downs.
